November 2021 Earnest Analytics (FKA Earnest Research) Spend Index
Earnest Analytics (FKA Earnest Research) Spend Index growth was flat compared to October, with an online spend acceleration offsetting a deceleration in in-store headed into the holidays. Yo2Y spend accelerated 4pp online and decelerated 8pp in-store. Fashion Resale, Active & Athleisure, and General Apparel stood out in YoY acceleration. Air Travel, Online Travel Agency, and Lodging & Accommodations accelerated, suggesting consumers still anticipated traveling in the near-term despite the emergence of the Omicron Covid-19 variant. General Electronics decelerated sharply, lapping the impact of a work-from-home related holiday spending surge in 2020.
