DraftKings beat FanDuel in deposits onto platform during Super Bowl LVIII

Deposits onto sports betting platform Bet365 grew 392% during Super Bowl LVIII weekend* in 2024 compared to Super Bowl LVII weekend in 2023 according to Earnest debit card data. The 392% YoY increase in deposits from users’ bank accounts was more than double the next fastest growing platform, BetRivers (+122% YoY). Deposits also grew on ESPN Bet (+37% YoY), and industry stalwart DraftKings (+20% YoY). Deposits onto the other sports betting incumbent Fanduel’s platform fell 2% YoY, but still outperformed casino platforms BetMGM (-21% YoY) and Caesars Sportsbook (-15% YoY).

Total deposits onto the online sports betting platforms listed grew 9% YoY in 2024, a steep deceleration from 52% YoY growth in 2023, mostly on account of fewer new states legalizing online betting in 2023 than in 2022. Online sports betting was legal in 26 states as of the end of 2023.
