DoorDash x Walgreens

Following the announcement that DoorDash would be partnering with Walgreens to deliver OTC medication and other health products, we looked at the percentage of Walgreens shoppers utilizing different delivery services.

DoorDash by far has the largest overlap of Walgreens users, well ahead of 2nd placed Grubhub, an advantage that’s only accelerated since March and the COVID-driven boom in deliveries. Far behind in last place is Postmates, which Walgreens partnered with in April.

The deal supplements DoorDash’s previously announced partnerships with CVS and convenience stores 7-Eleven, Casey General Store, CircleK, and Wawa.

While the agreement includes OTC medicines, might these partnerships encroach on prescription delivery specialists like Capsule and PillPack?
