Express, Adidas, Wayfair, Macy’s, Lululemon benefit from late season tax refunds

Express, Adidas, Wayfair, Macy’s, and Lululemon saw an accelerated benefit from tax refunds from March into April. Lululemon’s benefit in April is noteworthy considering they saw minimal to no benefit from refunds during the preliminary tax season. 

Abercrombie and Best Buy were top beneficiaries earlier in the season, benefits which appear to have slowed in March and then dissipated by season end. Abercrombie has also been buoyed in recent months by its pivot to older, higher spending customers.
